Olympiads Foundation
Exceptional talents recognized for their academic excellence, as well as their character, leadership, and social responsibility.
Promote
Foster the study of science in a creative, reasoned, and imaginative way, stimulating and developing young people’s problem-solving abilities.
What are the Olympiads?
They are intellectual challenges of a personal nature that a secondary-school student faces when encountering elementary academic problems whose solution is possible using only common sense and basic school-level mathematics.
Creativity, ingenuity, and intuition!
Beyond being a contest or competition in academic problem-solving, the Olympiads serve to generate a passion for science through formative and creative activities, giving scientific activity a playful content for students and teachers alike.
How to take part
We run two competition cycles: the National Olympiads and the circuit of International Olympiads.
National Olympiads
Their goal is to pre-select the students who will join the teams representing the country in the international tournaments we take part in. They are open to any student in the Ecuadorian education system.
International Selectives
Includes several in-person and correspondence competitions. These events are by invitation only, sent exclusively to the winners of the National Olympiads.

Who We Are
Since 1997, the Ecuadorian Mathematical Olympiad (OMEC) has detected, trained, and prepared the mathematical talent that makes up the teams representing the country in several Olympic competitions, including the World Mathematics Championship (IMO), the European Girls’ Mathematical Olympiad (EGMO), the Asian Pacific Mathematics Olympiad (APMO), the Southern Cone Olympiad, and others.
In 2018, OMEC became the Ecuadorian Science Olympiads Foundation (FOEC); in 2019, the Ecuadorian Physics Olympiad (OFEC) launched, also led by former Olympic competitors; in 2020, the Ecuadorian Informatics Olympiad (OIEC) was launched; in 2021, the Ecuadorian Economics, Finance and Business Olympiad (OLEEC) was launched, and the Ecuadorian Astronomy and Astronautics Olympiad (OEAA) also joined the team.
